Belen del palacio de cibeles
Madrid residents and visitors will both be able to see a traditional Nativity set at the Patio de Operaciones of the Cibeles Palace during the Christmas season.
This Nativity scene in the traditional Hebrew style has over figures modelled for Madrid City Council by the artisan, José Luis Mayo Lebrija, bringing the scene designed by the Madrid Association of Nativity Scenes to life.
The Nativity scene, which incorporates some new things this year, such as the Egyptian temple, shows the traditional nativity scenes: Annunciation to the Virgin, the Nativity, the arrival of the Three Kings, King Herod’s fortress, asking for room at the inn or fleeing to Egypt. These scenes are added to other popular scenes, such as the mill or the wash houses. Materials such as cork, moss and different types of sand, natural vegetation and water for the river that crosses the scene have all been used.
